Isn't firefighting fun? well obviousely!

Well, it has been awhile. I guess I'll start where I left off. Over the past few months I received almost all my certifications for a job with CDF and applied but my age almost all but disqualifies me. I enrolled in an EMT class and was voted student of the month (even though there is only one a year, I don't get it either) for ROP firefighter training. I just finished up auto extrication this morning, 3 hours of tearing cars limb from limb with hydraulic tools, tons o' fun. Right now I have to go get ready to ride along at Station 8 (yes the new one). My week was like this,
Monday: progressive hoselay practice (2 hours) , Bella vista volunteer firefighter training(4 hours).
Tuesday: Progressive hoselay practice(2 hours), CDF station 43 ride along+training(17 hours).
Wednesday: Progressive hoselay checkoff, I passed yay!(2.5 hours) EMT class(4 hours).
Thursday: Auto extrication class(3 hours), ROP(2 hours), Fire Station 8 ride along( 17 hours).
Friday: ROP(2 hours), give platelets(1 hour).
Saturday: SLEEP...
Total: 54.5 hours a week of something other than relaxing.
Hey It's almost like I have a job!
Oh well, have fun people and maybe I'll see you all later.

So how's everybody doing?
Over the past couple of weeks I have been busy. With shasta college starting, my firefighter training and basketball I don't have much free time on my hands. But I have been playing much guild wars and got back into computer stuff.
I recently THOUGHT about downloading "Final Fantasy VII Advent Children (FFVIIAC)" and watching it. Since it doesn't come out until november I would have had to get a pirated version which is illegal. IF I were to watch this movie I would tell you it is awesome. I would say that the motercycle chase scenes were excellent. I would tell you that the CG was amazing and it is one of my favorite movies this year. But I did not do this understand? :)
So yeah really not to much going on in michael land or in michael's head for that matter. Whatever it's late and I need to finish THINKING about burning FFVIIAC to a dvd.
Goodnight peoples.

Get ready to forget what you learn this semester!

It's that time again, it's time to get back to school. I strated my first class at shasta college monday and I started my second yesterday.
So anyway, I went to my math class monday and we crammed 40 people into a room the size of my living room (which is not big enough for 40 people) and then the proffesor showed up. He walks in and says good morning then looks around the room and comments about how many people are there and says he is either in the wrong classroom or we are. I thought he was joking but he told that it has happened to him before. He said he taught the wrong class for 10 minutes before the real teacher told him it was the wrong one.
My next class was nutrition, which is required for my fire science degree, and it was three hours long! Luckily it's only one day a week. I'm happy it's a night class though. It was interesting and the fact that it was three hours long makes all my other classes seem short.
At least I have some free time during the week albeit not much, but at least it's there. I'll post more late. Until then, Mike get your wombat off Ian's porch.

Blood, Sweat and... More Sweat

I can officially say I worked to my limit the past two days. I worked for Karl Frandsen for thursday and today, and I am dead tired. My work consisted of shoveling dirt into a tractor and then dumping it, I did this for 4 hours, After that I cleaned out and dug holes that were 5 ft. 8 in. deep and 30in. wide. On friday the inspector wanted absolutely no loose dirt in the holes so I took a shop vac and vacuumed out 59 holes. This was after I vacuumed all the water out of about 5 or 6 holes because the school had to water their grass, which was where the holes were. Apart from that I did other various things around. That wouldn't have too bad except that it was in heat over 100 degrees and in the sun. Plus I was out there for 23 hours in 2 days.
Everbody be praying for Ian he has to go for knee surgery and will be unable to walk for awhile. So keep him in your prayers
So peoples I am going to sleep for a long time. Until then I warn you again, Don't eat the yellow snow, espescially Ian, no matter how much you want to land that backflip.

Long time no see

It has been a long time since I updated. I guess that is due to the fact that I have been playing Guild Wars which is a huge online community game and it is awesome. I guess after I get done with that and have some stories to tell I'll post more. Until then, Don't eat the yellow snow(whatever that means).

Fantastic Four? More like, "Entertaining but nothing I haven't seen before and only two good perfomances!"

As the title would suggest I went and saw "Fantastic Four" today. It was decent and it filled that gap between the spider man/X-men movies and the Hulk/daredevil/elektra movies in the sense that the former were very good and the latter were very sucky. All of the comic book fanatics know what I'm talking about the rest of you can figure it out for yourself or ask me later. Michael Chiklas, who played The Thing, did an amazing job and Chris evans, The Human Torch, did really good too but everyone else was not all that great. Anyway it fit in nicely because it didn't suck but it wasn't amazing.
I was also reading up on other comic book movies and you have the your X-men 3, Spider-man 3 and Hulk 2(shudder!) but there also some surprises they are apparently in the process of filming a "Ghost rider" movie. I don't know everything about him but I know a good amount and I'm kind of excited. Nicholas Cage is going to play Ghost Rider(aka Johnny Blaze) and he looks pretty good. So it looks like there will be some fairly good comic book movies coming out, Lets just hope they keep the director of Elektra and Jennifer Garner away from the rest of movies.

Isn't exhaustion great

Well, another day has gone by and I think it was rather eventful. It wasn't very busy until about 3:30 when I went to my brothers work and helped unload a container of bikes and various parts which took us about 2 and half hours. Right after that I went to Shasta college and practiced volleyball with some guys for our team. I just finished watching that new show on ABC called "Empire" it was pretty good, better than I thought. I also just rented the new batman game, I wasn't going to but the movie made me want to play it. So I really didn't do many different things but the containers with the bike parts are probably some the most tiring things I've done.
Also I've been listening to the band "Goo Goo Dolls" and they are really good.
We have our volleyball games tomorrow so pray for us (us meaning me and mike and bunch of other guys)
